Mayo Clinic Health System’s Weight Management Services recently received Health Management Resources (HMR) Gold Standard Certificates of Achievement for the 11th year in a row. These awards distinguish Mayo Clinic Health System from hundreds of clinics nationwide using a weight loss program developed by HMR, a national health care company based out of Boston that specializes in medically managed weight loss. This year Weight Management Services received seven Gold Standard certificates.
HMR recognizes programs that demonstrate excellence in performance and patient care by presenting Gold Standard certificates annually to a select group of clinics across the nation. Certificates are awarded in categories that are critical for patient success, such as greatest weight loss rates, outstanding group attendance and best weight maintenance data. HMR programs nationwide submit clinical data in these areas, and the top programs receive the certificates.
“This award is testimony to our track record of helping our patients achieve life-changing results,” says registered dietitian Diane Dressel, Weight Management Services program coordinator.
Of particular note were Mayo Clinic Health System’s low drop-out rates. The monthly drop-out rate for Weight Management Service’s patients was 6 percent, compared to commercial programs whose drop-out rates could be as high as 26 percent.
Weight Management Services offers a variety of weight-loss choices, including in-clinic programs with optional medical supervision or at-home diet kits with optional phone support.
