Fall prevention program offered in northwest Wisconsin

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. — Join Mayo Clinic Health System and the Aging and Disability Resource Center for a seven-week fall prevention program.

Stepping On curriculum covers improving balance, strength training, home environment safety, low vision needs and medication review. Participants will gain confidence in their mobility and reduce the risk of falls to maintain an active life.

Classes will be offered in Chippewa Falls, Eau Claire and Menomonie. The course is free.

To attend, participants should be able to walk unassisted, live independently and have had a fall or are at risk for falling. The program is co-supported by Mayo Clinic Health System and the Aging and Disability Resource Center.

Registration is required.

  • Chippewa Falls: Tuesdays, Sept. 20 – Nov. 1, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Chippewa Falls Senior Center, 1000 E. Grand Ave. Register by Sept. 13. Go to wihealthyaging.org/workshops, or call 715-726-7777.
