Free health fair in Bloomer on Oct. 8

BLOOMER, Wis. — Mayo Clinic Health System – Chippewa Valley and the Bloomer Women’s Club will host a free health fair during the Bloomer Arts and Crafts Fair from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, at Bloomer Elementary School, 401 Eighth Ave.

Participants can shop and learn about a number of health-related topics, including youth and family wellness activities, home health and hospice, mammography and volunteer opportunities. There will be a drawing for several prizes at 12 p.m.

Mayo Clinic Health System staff also will offer complimentary cholesterol and blood sugar screenings. For best results, participants should fast 12 hours before the screenings. A limited number of screenings will be available.
