AUSTIN, Minn. — Mayo Clinic Health System – Albert Lea and Austin now offers management of implanted cardiac devices through a new Cardiac Device Clinic on its Austin campus. The service, offered several times a month, is located in the cardiology department on the second floor of the south clinic.
“This new service complements our existing cardiology practice as well as our Heart Rhythm Clinic, where we assess and manage care of patients with abnormal heart rhythms along with their primary cardiology team,” says Annie Stratton, registered nurse, Cardiology nurse manager. “This added service allows patients with pacemakers and defibrillators the option to have their follow up care in Austin instead of traveling to Mayo Clinic in Rochester.”
The Heart Rhythm Clinic is staffed by Peter Brady, M.D., and Colleen Nelson, certified nurse practitioner. This service is offered twice a month.
Austin’s Cardiac Device Clinic is staffed with registered nurses from Mayo Clinic’s Cardiac Device Clinic in Rochester. They specialize in managing cardiac implanted devices in conjunction with heart rhythm specialists.
Austin’s Cardiology department is staffed by Lawrence Keenan, M.D., Andrew Moore, M.D., Marcia Rosendahl, doctorate of nurse practitioner, and Nelson. The Cardiology department offers a variety of services including stress testing, holter monitoring, echocardiograms, and numerous other cardiac tests and procedures. For more information about all of the Cardiology services offered on the Austin campus call 507-434-1262.
