The fifth annual Lloyd and Ardis Peterson Cancer Education Symposium will be held Saturday, Nov. 12 from 8 a.m. to noon, at Wedgewood Cove Golf Club, 2200 W. 9th St., Albert Lea. The symposium is free and brunch will be provided.
Learn about the latest in treatment, research and surviving colorectal cancer. Presenters include Brenda Elsagher, cancer survivor, speaker, humorist, and author will have you laughing when she shares her engaging stories of being a colorectal cancer survivor and mother. Mina Hanna, M.D., oncologist at Mayo Clinic Health System, will bring awareness to colorectal cancer and the importance of colon screenings. Linda Ferguson, R.N., Mayo Clinic, shares the meaning of holistic healing and the benefits of how a holistic approach can treat imbalances and help you live a more balanced lifestyle. Sydney Schone, C.N.P., Cancer Center on the Albert Lea campus of Mayo Clinic Health System – Albert Lea and Austin, will emcee the symposium.
The symposium comes from the generosity of The Lloyd and Ardis Peterson Family Foundation who wished to honor their parents in the community where they lived and worked, while simultaneously recognizing the quality care they received from the medical center in Albert Lea.
