Don Foster

In 2006, Don Foster got a second chance at love when he married Pam whom he had dated when the two were high school classmates in Mapleton, Minn. Don didn’t have to wait as long for his next second chance. Just four years after he and Pam were married, a heart attack nearly claimed his life.

Kinser Hanson

Just hours after Kinser was born, his parents’ joy turned to fear when they learned that he had a heart defect. When he was five days old, Mayo Clinic surgeons performed life-saving surgery to fix his little heart. Now seven years later, Kinser focuses on being a kid and lets his parents and physicians reflect on his journey and the coordinated care he continues to receive.
