Youth Programs: ACL & Lower Extremity Injury Prevention
191 Theater Road
Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries can be devastating and often require surgery, intensive rehabilitation and months away from your sport. If your sport requires jumping, pivoting, twisting or lunging movements, you are at risk for an ACL injury.
Our team of sports medicine physicians, surgeons and rehabilitation specialists are available to help you recover should an injury occur. However, we realize injury prevention is the best option to keep you in the game, and our highest priority. Injury prevention can also keep your health care costs down.
The program runs Mondays from July 24 to September 25.
- The ACL and Lower Extremity Injury Prevention Program includes comprehensive assessments and testing on Day 1.
- The baseline measurements taken on Day 1 will be used to develop a customized injury prevention curriculum.
- The program includes 8 supervised sessions with a physical therapist or physical therapy assistant, as well as home exercises that are tailored to you and your sport.
- A post assessment will be completed at the end of the program (Day 10), which will gauge your progress and provide information that will be used to create an ongoing exercise program.
